~Improving Sustainability and Efficiency of Temporary Power~
Marubeni Ventures Inc. announces its investment in Moxion Power Co. (Headquarters: Richmond, CA, CEO: Paul Huelskamp), a US company that develops and manufactures mobile energy storage technology. Marubeni Ventures joins lead investor Tamarack Global, previous Series A lead Energy Impact Partners, as well as Sunbelt Rentals, Amazon’s Climate Pledge Fund, Microsoft’s Climate Innovation Fund, Enterprise Holdings Ventures, and Suffolk Technologies in this $100M Series B round.
Moxion was founded in 2020 to develop clean mobile energy storage products that help industries such as construction, events and entertainment, film production, and transportation decarbonize operations. In these applications, fossil fuel-burning generators are often used for temporary power. Industry participants are seeking mobile solutions for energy efficiency and reduced carbon or other emissions, and Moxion’s technology can help address these needs.
Moxion has entered into a multiyear commercial agreement with Sunbelt Rentals, a leading equipment rental company. Moxion will use the proceeds from this financing round to accelerate product development and expand manufacturing capacity to meet growing demand. Through this investment, Marubeni Ventures will support Moxion’s business expansion.
